Overview

"Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj" founder of "Maratha Empire" in western India in 1664, was well known for his forts.

There are more than 300 forts in Maharashtra, towering structures built on hills, mountains, and by the sea, centuries and centuries ago. These strongholds, most of them associated with the Marathas, are an important part of Indian history, a reminder of the powerful kingdoms that once ruled our lands.


The Challenge

Due to the shortage of manpower and funds at Archaeological Survey of India ( ASI ) these monuments have not been conserved or restored appropriately and are deteriorating day by day.

There are heavy downpours during monsoon due to their location in western ghats regions. Ruining the fort walls and structures.


The Strategy for Forts Renovation

Support in renovation of Forts with the help of government organizations.

Installing directional and information boards on required places of each forts.


Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG)

1.

Set up Drinking water and Toilet facilities on forts with the help of Government by the year 2026.

2.

Install Quality Wooden Doors on Fortswith the help of Governmentby the year 2030.
